- Non-stop rail link between M1 and M60/M67 linking South Yorkshire
with the North West

road link.
- Up to 5 trains per hour departing every 10 to 15 minutes between
5 am and 9 pm
- Mandatory rest period for HGV drivers satisfying new Working
Time Directive
- Excluded from “Lorry Based Distance Charging” due 2006
- Little impact on the environment since land previously developed
for rail use
- Safer - Fewer road accidents as HGVs using the Rolling Highway
- Reduced driver fatigue and stress
- Little impact on existing rail network as virtually a closed
system
- Less Air Pollution, Less Noise Pollution
- CO2 greenhouse emission reduced by over 70% or 100,000 Tonnes
